Wonder of the Seas | Sea Day, Izumi Sushi

It is time for our first Sea Day onboard the Wonder of the Seas! From a relaxing morning to a delicious lunch at Izumi Sushi, followed by formal night festivities and an evening of dancing—it was a day packed with excitement and adventure.

I woke up before Leah and took the opportunity to explore the ship a little. After picking up a coffee from Café Promenade, I wandered to the aft and settled in with my book for a bit. There’s truly nothing like the sound of the ocean—it’s incredibly peaceful.

Breakfast

On my way back to the room, I swung by Park Café to check out their breakfast options. I picked up a couple of burritos—a little cold, and not the best, but good enough to tide me over until lunch.

Morning Activities

I got back to the room and found Leah awake. We decided to change into our swimsuits and make our way to the Solarium. With drinks in hand, we kicked back and enjoyed some relaxing time in the sun.

At 10:00am, we made our way down to Studio B for the Crown and Anchor event. It’s a chance to recognize the top cruisers on board and hear from the captain and senior officers. There’s usually a special performance as part of the event, but this time, it was noticeably absent.

Lunch

Lunch today was at Izumi Sushi, a specialty restaurant known for its fresh, high-quality sushi and a wide selection of Japanese dishes. Guests can order a la carte or opt for the prix fixe menu, which includes one small plate, two large plates, and a dessert.

We arrived right at noon and were promptly seated at a cozy table for two. Our meal was part of the prix fixe option, giving each of us the full range of choices.

After placing our order, the food arrived quickly—and it did not disappoint. Everything was delicious, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. We typically don’t splurge on Specialty Dining, but if you enjoy Japanese cuisine, Izumi is absolutely worth it.

Afternoon Activities

Our afternoon was pretty low-key. We found a couple of lounge chairs by the pool, soaked up the sun, and sipped on a few drinks.

Around 3:00pm, we headed back to the room to start getting ready for Formal Night. Once we were dressed up, we made a quick stop at Mason Jar for two of our go-to cocktails—the Mississippi Moonlight and Pretty as a Peach Tea.

From there, we strolled down to Central Park on Deck 8. It’s always a great spot for photos, but it’s especially perfect on Formal Night.

Dinner

Dinner tonight was once again in the Main Dining Room, and the menu tonight easily features some of our favorite dishes.

For starters, Leah decided to stick with the Classic Ceasar Salad, and to also give the Calamari a try. She enjoyed both dishes. For my starters, I ordered the Classic Ceasar Salad and the Escargot. Both were wonderful, once again.

Leah went with the Chicken Cordon Bleu for her main dish, while I went with the Beef Tenderloin. These two are always our go-to entrees when we see them on the menu. Always a solid choice, and they once again did not disappoint.

For dessert, we both decided to go with the Cappuccino Cake. It was a solid way to end the meal.

Evening Activities

Following dinner, we had reservations booked for 365: Seasons on Ice in Studio B.

It was a very entertaining show with some great, upbeat music, and talented cast.

After the show, we decided to meet up with a couple of friends we had met earlier at Hideaway and headed to Boleros.

We kicked off the evening with some drinks and live music at Boleros, then made our way to the Music Hall for a lively Country Party—it was a lot of fun!

Next up was the Silent Disco in the Solarium, which we tried for the first time. I’ll admit, my expectations were low, but I was completely surprised—it turned out to be an absolute blast. The energy, music, and atmosphere made it one of the highlights of the night.

Afterward, we found ourselves back at Boleros, which has quickly become one of our favorite hangouts on this cruise. With more Latin music and cocktails, the fun just kept going.

To wrap up the night, we grabbed a quick slice at Sorrento’s before heading back to the room and calling it a night.
