- Harmony of the Seas
- Allure of the Seas
…we can honestly say there is not a bad option in the bunch.
But if we had to rank them for families based on our personal experiences, here is how our list currently stands for best Oasis Class ship for families.
Our Oasis Class Rankings for Families
- Wonder of the Seas
- Oasis of the Seas
- Symphony of the Seas
- Harmony of the Seas
- Allure of the Seas
And honestly? The differences between these ships are much smaller than people probably expect.
Each one has strengths that make it special.
Wonder of the Seas – Best Overall Oasis Class Ship for Families
Wonder of the Seas currently sits at the top of our list.
Why? The ship just feels polished, modern, and extremely family friendly.
The updated pool deck and Solarium layout were standout features for us, and overall the ship flowed very well during sea days. Even with thousands of passengers onboard, it rarely felt overwhelming.
What We Loved Most
- Best pool deck layout
- Modern design
- Updated Oasis Class feel
- Great family atmosphere
- The best live music we have had at sea
- Excellent overall flow onboard

Best For
- Families with kids
- First-time Oasis cruisers
- Families wanting the newest feel
2. Oasis of the Seas – Best Aqua Show + Classic Oasis Feel
Oasis of the Seas surprised us in several ways.
The Aqua Show remains our favorite Aqua Show experience on any Oasis Class ship we’ve sailed so far. It was absolutely incredible. The music with the talented cast, truly do make a sensational show.
The ship also has that “classic Oasis” feeling that makes the class so special in the first place.
What We Loved Most
- Best Aqua Show
- Fantastic Boardwalk atmosphere
- Great family activities
- Excellent service
- Strong food throughout the ship

One Downside
The Broadway production of Cats simply was not for us. We really do think it is time for Royal to swap this show out with something else.
But honestly? One show was not enough to negatively impact the overall cruise experience.
3. Symphony of the Seas – Best Entertainment Overall
Symphony of the Seas takes the crown for overall entertainment.
Between:
- Hairspray
- Flight
- Hiro
- ice skating shows

…the entertainment lineup was incredibly strong from start to finish.
This ship also delivered one of our favorite family cruise experiences overall.
What We Loved Most
- Incredible entertainment lineup
- Beautiful Central Park
- Amazing family activities
- Outstanding Main Dining Room service
- Fantastic food variety

Best Family Features
- Boardwalk carousel
- Ultimate Abyss
- Waterslides
- Splashaway Bay
- Family scavenger hunts
This ship simply does a fantastic job balancing activities for both kids and adults. Be sure to check out our tips and tricks for Symphony of the Seas.
4. Harmony of the Seas – Best Balanced Oasis Class Ship
Harmony of the Seas is probably the most balanced ship we’ve sailed in the class.
It may not have one single category where it completely dominates, but it does everything extremely well.
For many families, that actually makes it the perfect choice.
What We Loved Most
- Well-rounded family experience
- Great entertainment
- Strong activities lineup
- Familiar Oasis Class strengths
- Excellent overall atmosphere
Harmony feels like the definition of a safe choice in the best possible way.
5. Allure of the Seas – Best Broadway Show Experience
Even though Allure of the Seas landed fifth on our list, we still absolutely loved this ship.
In fact, Mamma Mia remains one of our favorite Broadway productions we’ve seen at sea. I still remember watching this show for the first time in the Royal Theater and thinking, wow, this is incredible.
What We Loved Most
- Incredible Broadway entertainment
- Classic Oasis atmosphere
- Great family energy
- Strong entertainment overall
Why It Ranked Lower
Mostly because some of the newer Oasis ships simply feel more updated. And please note, we have not sailed on Allure since her refurbishment in 2025.
That said, we would still happily sail Allure again tomorrow.
