Elkhorn Ribfest: More Than Just Amazing BBQ

While the ribs may steal the spotlight, there’s plenty to keep you entertained all day long.

Live Music

Two stages feature live performances throughout the festival, showcasing talented local and regional musicians playing everything from classic rock and country to today’s favorites. There’s always something happening, making it easy to grab a meal, relax, and enjoy the music. The full line-up of this year’s performers can be found here.

Carnival

The carnival offers rides and games for all ages, making Ribfest a great destination for families. Purchase individual ride tickets or grab an unlimited ride wristband if you’re planning to spend the day.

Artisan Vendor Village

Take a break from the food and browse dozens of artisan vendors featuring handcrafted gifts, home décor, artwork, jewelry, specialty foods, and unique local products.

Our Favorite BBQ Vendors

If you’ve ever followed us, you already know we’re serious about good food.

After years of attending the festival, these are the vendors we look forward to visiting every summer. While the lineup changes from year to year, these teams consistently deliver incredible barbecue.

Aussom Aussie

It’s no surprise these pit masters have earned top honors over the years.

Their ribs are consistently among the best at the festival. Perfectly smoked, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor.

Don’t leave without trying their Raspberry Chipotle BBQ Sauce. It’s easily one of our favorite sauces at Elkhorn Ribfest.

Salt Creek

Salt Creek quickly earned a permanent spot on our must-eat list.

Their ribs have an amazing caramelized bark while remaining juicy and fall-off-the-bone tender. If you haven’t tried them yet, make this your year.

Just North of Memphis

If dry-rub ribs are your thing, don’t miss this booth.

Their signature seasoning creates incredible flavor without needing much sauce. Every bite is smoky, savory, and perfectly seasoned.

Mr. Greens

As one of the local favorites, Mr. Greens continues to impress year after year.

Their award-winning ribs keep festival-goers coming back, and they’re always one of our first stops.

Beyond the Ribs: Don’t Miss These BBQ Favorites

Some of our favorite dishes at Elkhorn Ribfest aren’t ribs at all.

Outback Mac

Found at the Aussom Aussie booth, this incredible sandwich layers smoked pulled pork and creamy mac and cheese on a warm pretzel bun.

It’s one of those menu items we find ourselves ordering almost every single day we visit.

Lone Star Stack

This quickly became one of our Top 5 favorite Ribfest dishes.

A slice of jalapeño cornbread is topped with creamy mac and cheese, tender smoked brisket, and BBQ sauce for an unforgettable combination of sweet, smoky, spicy, and savory flavors. This flavorful dish can be found at Cowboys BBQ.

Save Room for Dessert

Peach Bread Pudding

When it comes to dessert, one item stands above the rest.

The Peach Bread Pudding from Just North of Memphis is warm, rich, and absolutely delicious.

Pro Tip: Buy it early in the festival. It regularly sells out before Sunday.

Our Insider Tips for Elkhorn Ribfest

After attending every Elkhorn Ribfest since the beginning, here’s what we’ve learned.

Come Hungry

You’ll want to sample food from several vendors, so don’t fill up at the first booth.

Bring Friends

Sharing meals is the best strategy. Split a rack of ribs, grab different sandwiches, and sample as much as possible.

Go Beyond the Ribs

Some of the festival’s best food includes brisket, pulled pork, smoked chicken, mac and cheese, nachos, and creative BBQ creations.

And new this year, you can vote for your favorite Mac and cheese! We love a good Mac and cheese and cannot wait to sample our way through some of these vendors.

Bring Cash and a Credit Card

Most vendors accept both, but having multiple payment options makes things easier.

Grab a Drink Before Getting in Line

Popular vendors often have long lines during lunch and dinner. Grab a cold beverage before hopping in line and enjoy the wait.

Take Home Your Favorites

Many BBQ teams sell their award-winning sauces and dry rubs. They’re perfect for recreating your favorite Ribfest flavors at home.
